ASC A92 MAIN COMMITTEE ELECTS NEW CHAIR, VICE-CHAIR

KANSAS CITY, MO | August 9, 2019 – The Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) A92 Main Committee announced today that they have elected Joshua Chard, Ph.D., and Frank Bonesteel to serve as their new Chair and Vice-Chair, respectively.
Chard serves as Director of Product & Corporate Safety for Global Rental Co., Inc., – a subsidiary of Altec, Inc. – in Birmingham, Ala. He has been a member of the A92 Committee for 18 years and has served as the A92.2 Sub-committee Chair since 2009. In addition, Chard is a member of the A92.20, A92.22, and A92.24 Sub-committees.

"We are in a period of increased globalization and rapidly changing technology," Chard says. "These changes must be integrated into our industry. I'm committed to progressing the Standards in a logical way to improve the safety of the industry."
Bonesteel, president of Bonesteel Construction Company in Pahrump, Nev., was re-elected to a second term as A92 Vice-Chair. He has been a member of the A92 Committee for more than 20 years and currently serves as Chair for the A92.24 Sub-committee. Bonesteel is also a member of the A92.7, A92.20, A92.22, and A92.24 Sub-committees. He was previously a Chair for the A92.8 Sub-committee.

The Scaffold & Access Industry Association ( SAIA ) is Secretariat for the American National Standards Institute ( ANSI ). The ASC A92 has been an ANSI-accredited standards developer since May 16, 1984; the SAIA has served as the Secretariat of ASC A92 since that time.

The Secretariat ensures that the committee is in compliance with the ANSI Essential Requirements and ASC A92 Policies and Procedures. The Secretariat primarily performs the administrative work of the committee and serves as the liaison between the A92 Committee and ANSI. These duties consist of arranging for ballots and publication of A92 standards, along with revisions and edits of these standards. Records of the ANSI Standards that have been published and the renewal cycle of each standard are also kept.
