Hello ASC Parents and Families,
I am excited to be joining Arizona Sports Complex to continue my career in developing young basketball players. A little about myself, I started my coaching career in 1998 as an assistant coach for the varsity girls program at Cortez High School, where I actually graduated from in 1992. While at Cortez as a player I was voted Player of the Year and became the schools All-time leading scorer. In 2000 I began my Varsity coaching tenure at Cortez. During my 18 years there I have won over 200 games and been voted
Coach of the Year 5 times
. Our teams went to 6 State Final 4’s and 1 State Championship game. I left Cortez as the winningest coach in the schools history. I continued my coaching career as an assistant coach at Phoenix College then on to Scottsdale Community College. After that I made it to the university level and coached as an assistant coach at Arizona Christian University. There we made it to the Elite 8 in the NAIA National Tournament. I stopped my coaching In 2019 as the Head Assistant Coach at Southwest Assembly University of God at Phoenix so I could watch and be a part of my sons senior season in high school.
I played my college ball at Concordia University at Irvine where I was an All GSAC Conference Player. I have 2 kids, son Jalen who is 18 and daughter Jordyn who is 16. Both attend Deer Valley High School. I have been married to my beautiful wife Melissa for 19 years.
Teaching and coaching the fundamentals of the game of basketball is a passion of mine! My approach is to do so with a fun and stress free energy. I can’t wait to get going and to meet all of you!
