Is COVID-19 Covered by Workers' Comp?

Labor and business groups are gearing up for a fight over whether employers - through workers' compensation - should pay health costs for essential workers infected by COVID-19, with Gov. Gavin Newsom expected to decide the multibillion-dollar debate soon.

Union leaders want Newsom to issue an executive order presuming that essential employees who contract coronavirus did so on the job, rather than in the community, making it easier for them to file workers' compensation claims for COVID-19. Business groups warn that such a move could raise annual costs for employers by as much as $33 billion per year.

Applications are currently being accepted for the Automotive Service Councils Educational Foundation (ASCEF) 2020 scholarships! Each year, the ASCEF awards 18 scholarships ranging from $500 - $1,000. These scholarships provide assistance to current under-graduates who are in the automotive service field.

April 2020
This month we are featuring Pat Cadam, an ASCCA member who owns and runs Pat's Garage, which specializes in Japanese cars and is located in San Francisco's Dogpatch neighborhood. 

Pat likes to spread good car advice through his informative blog, which can be found on the Pat's Garage website, and through Facebook, where he regularly interacts with happy customers. Pat is also very involved in the Connected Cars Committee!

ADA website compliance and web accessibility are two terms that are used interchangeably but they are distinct from one another.
ADA stands for the Americans with Disabilities Act which prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability.  Courts are construing Title III of the ADA to mean that websites must be accessible.  Thus, with ADA website compliance, we're referring to the law.
