2020 Scholarship Application Open for the ASC Educational Foundation!

Applications are currently being accepted for the Automotive Service Councils Educational Foundation (ASCEF) 2020 scholarships! Each year, the ASCEF awards 18 scholarships ranging from $500 - $1,000. These scholarships provide assistance to current under-graduates who are in the automotive service field.
 
Don't wait! Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2020.

This month we are featuring Brad Reich, an ASCCA member who owns and runs RPM Automotive Services in Rohnert Park, CA, serving all of Somona County. 

RPM is family owned and operated, provides generous amenities for customers and has been involved with and supported many past community events like a Car Care Clinic and a Car Show for a Cause.

Automotive Aftermarket Industry Legislative Fly-In - April 28, 2020

The Automotive Aftermarket Industry is joining together for a Legislative Fly-In! Don't miss out on this opportunity to connect with others in the industry. Fill out this registration form and make your travel arrangements. Reservations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Past speakers have included: Chief, Bureau of Automotive Repair; Governor's Small Business Advocate; Governor's Economic Adviser; Chair, Select Committee on Career Technical Education & Workforce Development; Chair, Senate Transportation & Housing Committee.



First Time Attendee Reimbursement Application

Any ASCCA member who has not previously attended an ASCCA Legislative Day event may be nominated by their Chapter President and Chapter Representative to receive travel reimbursement. The reimbursement amounts will not exceed $150 per person for attendees traveling within a 150-mile radius of the event location, or $250 per person for attendees traveling further than 150 miles.

All nominations must be reviewed and approved by ASCCA Government Affairs Committee prior to the event. Click here for the reimbursement request form.
CAWA 2020 Scholarships - Apply Now - March 31st Deadline

Interested in receiving a scholarship from the Association for your employees, children, family members and others who would be welcomed into the auto care industry? Applying is easy! The online application process allows students interested in aftermarket careers to submit one application each year online at www.automotivescholarships.com and receive consideration for several scholarships. Funds for scholarships come from generosity of Motorcar Parts of America and other CAWA members, as well as,  the University of the Aftermarket Foundation. Accessible

ADA website compliance and web accessibility are two terms that are used interchangeably but they are distinct from one another.
ADA stands for the Americans with Disabilities Act which prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability.  Courts are construing Title III of the ADA to mean that websites must be accessible.  Thus, with ADA website compliance, we're referring to the law.
CAWA Scholarship Opportunity for High Schools with Automotive Programs!

The oftentimes forgotten individuals in educating and training students in preparation for automotive careers is the high school automotive teacher. Whether it's their use of personal funds to keep their programs going or their need for certification to keep their instructor and program status, CAWA wants to assist them in achieving success.

The Association has established a scholarship program to help these teachers in several ways, including financially.
