ASCCA Member of the Month - Colleen Yarger!
Colleen Yarger, Mark's Independent Service in Chatsworth California, Member of ASCCA Chapter 5, Foothills.
Colleen bought the business from Mark in 2020 after working as a service advisor there for 5 years. She saw the need for improvement and growth in our ever-changing industry!
Having a strong foundation in the hospitality industry, customer service is Colleen’s strong point. Weaning the customers away from always talking to “the mechanic” and following a structured shop flow process, Colleen was able to teach the staff accountability and how to make better decisions. The reviews tell stories of how customers love her bright new approach to solving customers’ problems and not just fixing the car.
Colleen is not one to run from a challenge. Over the last year as the new shop owner, her skills were put to the test as new changes brought new challenges of hiring new staff and training them to the new business model. She has said, “I’m having so much fun learning to grow, but being part of an amazing association like the ASCCA to fall back on is priceless!” Not having any mechanical skills or knowing cars has not stopped Colleen. With the help of her colleagues at the chapter and her business coach, she feels more confident today than ever to take on the constant evolving wave of hybrid and electrical cars!
Thank you Colleen for being a strong leader and a great example of how shop owners help shop owners!

ADA website compliance and web accessibility are two terms that are used interchangeably but they are distinct from one another.
ADA stands for the Americans with Disabilities Act which prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability. Courts are construing Title III of the ADA to mean that websites must be accessible. Thus, with ADA website compliance, we're referring to the law.
