Happy New Year!

They’re back... Lawmakers returned to the Capitol on Wednesday, January 13 for the start of the 2024 legislative session. They must begin dealing with the estimated $68 billion deficit (and possible new taxes) while many are running for re-election and appearing on the March 5 primary ballot. We expect around 2,500 new bills to be introduced this year, along with the remaining two-year bills from last session.

The Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) Advisory Committee is holding its meeting on January 25 in Sacramento. The agenda is available at https://www.bar.ca.gov/bar-advisory-group. We plan on monitoring the meetings, bills, and regulatory actions and will provide updates.

Coaches Lab: When Will Shops Stop Doing Work That They Don’t Get Paid For? (Town Hall Academy)

THA-363-v2-1440x810 image

It’s time to find the hidden costs of ‘busyness’ in auto repair shops. It’s not just about the work you do; it’s about the work you’re actually getting paid for. Measuring technician productivity is crucial – because if you’re not measuring it, you can’t manage it. It’s a wake-up call for shops everywhere to stop leaving money on the table.

ASCCA Committees Seek Your Help
ASCCA committees are seeking volunteers. Involvement can be at varying levels of time commitment, comfort level and responsibility. Simply reach out to committee leaders and let them know more about your interest, talent and available time commitment and they will match you up with ways you can help.

ASCCA committee volunteers have one thing in common, they agree that by volunteering they received more than they give in the way of both personal and professional growth.

You can learn more about ASCCA Committees at: https://www.ascca.com/committees
Let us know if you’d like to attend a future meeting at info@ascca.com
