2021 Ohio Infrastructure Report Card
Announcement from our Region 3 Governor, Craig Hebebrand, P.E.:

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Ohio Council of Local Sections will unveil its 2021 Report Card for Ohio’s Infrastructure with a virtual presentation and media Q&A session.

WHEN: Thursday, February 11, 10 - 11 a.m.

Preregistration is required at http://ohioasce.org/ [ohioasce.org].

Every four years, America’s civil engineers provide a comprehensive assessment of the nation’s infrastructure in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Infrastructure Report Card. The Report Card, using a simple A to F school report card format, examines current infrastructure conditions across all categories, assigning grades and making recommendations to raise them.

Infrastructure is the backbone of Ohio’s economy and critical to the Ohio’s prosperity and the public’s health and welfare. To provide citizens and decision-makers with the information needed to make informed decisions on how best to maintain and modernize Ohio’s Infrastructure, the ASCE Ohio Council of Local Sections has prepared the Ohio Infrastructure Report Card, that analyzes infrastructure in 16 categories: bridges, dams, drinking water, energy, hazardous waste, inland waterways, levees, parks, ports, rail, roads, schools, solid waste, stormwater, transit and wastewater.
Like much of the country, Ohio has struggled to find new, sustainable sources of revenue for its aging infrastructure, leaving many systems to go without proper maintenance, routine inspections and necessary replacement. Join us to understand how Ohio’s infrastructure is faring and how we can work together to modernize its systems.
More detail about the program will be announced soon. Feel free to contact me directly at craig.hebebrand@gmail.com if you have questions or have a media story to share.
