The Miami-Dade (MD) Branch closed out FY 2024-2025 on a high note with its 49th Annual Awards and Installation Gala in August, celebrating achievements and outlining key goals for the upcoming year. With the new board now in place, the MD Branch has hit the ground running with transition meetings, Board of Directors (BOD) meetings, events, and planning for the year ahead. The newly elected Executive Board is as follows:

July - September 2025 Past Events by our Miami Dade Branch

YMG: Miami Beach Cleanup (July 20, 2025)

The Miami-Dade YMG collaborated with Clean Miami Beach for a community cleanup at Mid-Beach, gathering about 37 volunteers. The day began with a yoga session, followed by the beach cleanup, removing plastic waste and litter from the shoreline. The event concluded with refreshments and poolside relaxation. Overall, this event strengthened community engagement and environmental stewardship among participants.


CI: CGI PRESENTATION (JULY 24, 2025)



The Miami-Dade CI hosted a Golden Glades Interchange (GGI) Project Presentation at Bay 13, drawing about 76 attendees. The event provided one PDH credit and featured discussions on major aspects of the GGI project. The evening offered valuable networking and professional development opportunities for attendees.

49th Annual Awards & Installation Gala (August 22, 2025)

The Miami-Dade Branch held its 49th Annual Awards & Installation Gala at the Rusty Pelican in Key Biscayne, welcoming 430 guests. The event celebrated the 2025 Award Recipients and installed the 2025–2026 Board of Directors, Institute Chairs, and Committee Chairs. The evening featured live entertainment, professional media coverage, and sponsor-supported programming, marking a successful close to the year.

GI & COPRI: Technical Presentation and Networking Event

(August 28, 2025)


The Miami-Dade COPRI and GI groups kicked off the new FY with a Networking Hour and Technical Presentation by URETEK at Coyo Taco. The event drew approximately 25 attendees and featured a presentation on grout injection for seawall and geotechnical applications. The event offered a great opportunity to connect with industry professionals while savoring Mexican food.


AEI Inaugural Social (September 23, 2025)



To celebrate the establishment of the Miami-Dade AEI, the chapter hosted its inaugural event at Bay 13, welcoming approximately 15 attendees. The gathering brought together engineers, architects, and industry professionals to connect and collaborate. The event marked the beginning of our AEI community and offered members the opportunity to take part in its launch and future growth.


2025 ASCE Presidents and Governors Forum and Leader Orientation (September 14-15, 2025)



In September, our Branch President, Alessandra Monetti, attended the 2025 Presidents and Governors Forum and Leader Orientation at ASCE Headquarters, joining over 110 ASCE leaders from around the world. The event focused on leadership development, effective governance, and collaboration, providing an inspiring opportunity to exchange ideas and strengthen connections across the Society.
