September 9th Lunch with the Branch - Free Webinar
Topic: BIM for Infrastructure: Model Based Deliverables for Highway and Bridge Projects
Alexa Mitchell, PE, HDR Highways and Roads National BIM Director
Grant Schmitz, PE, HDR Bridge Engineer
Connor Christian, EIT, HDR Transportation BIM Manager

The use of 3D design information for automated machine guidance (AMG) has been prevalent in highway construction for the last decade. Recently, numerous DOT’s and major transportation owners are taking 3D Design to new levels - signed and sealed contractual 3D deliverables for construction. Model-based deliverables offer the opportunity to streamline workflows, increase efficiency and manage the increasing demands of construction programs. However, they also introduce the need to update our tools, and standard methods for design and inspection. This presentation will focus on pilot projects with model-based deliverables, and the considerations for model-based requirements.

Time: Wednesday, September 9, 2020, Noon - 1:00 pm
