This letter is to inform you of a transition going on within the ASC-Educational Foundation. We have recently entered into a contract with Charitable Adult Rides & Services (CARS) as a vehicle donation partner. CARS operates a call center capable of handling a high volume, with same-day response times and with a dedicated phone number for ASCEF. CARS will facilitate all aspects of the ASCEF car donation program including receiving calls, towing, title transfers and restoration, auctions and receipting.
CARS maintains three locations in the continental United States and offers full-service, turn-key vehicle donation services including:
- Maintaining ASCEF's current toll-free number
- Call center accepting donations 7 days a week
- Donation database entry and analysis 7 days a week
- Web-enabled donation form processing for partner websites; automatically downloaded into CARS database
- Scheduling pick-up of all donated vehicles
- Arrangement for sale of all donated vehicles anywhere in the United States
- Processing of CARS' partner organizations' sales proceeds
- Development of partner organizations' donor "Thank You" letters & Forms 1098-C
- Preparation of all IRS documents
- Annual electronic filing of CARS' partners' IRS Forms 1098-C
- Remittance of check or deposit of funds electronically into CARS partner organizations' bank account

This changeover will take place on August 1, 2017. Our hope is that this transition will be as seamless as possible and will allow ASCEF Trustees, volunteers and staff more time to focus on other administrative obligations as well as increasing revenue streams via additional fundraising efforts.
