Dear ASCLD Colleagues,

We are fortunate to have several amazing keynote presentations at our upcoming symposium. Former NFL and college football coach and host of The Highest Level podcast, Evan Burk, will share with us how championship team cultures are built and the principles behind transforming a team. I just finished listening to the episode Creating a Winning Game Plan with Evan and Jamey Rootes, former President of the Houston Texans. It was great and I am looking forward to the presentation. Also joining us is the 23rd United States Secretary of the Air Force and author of Aim High, Deborah Lee James, who will speak about psychological safety in the workplace and her experience being responsible for the affairs of this branch of our Armed Forces.

Just as we are mindful about maintaining the health and safety of our places of work, the Symposium Planning Committee is equally as mindful about doing so at our Symposium. We have been keeping up with health and safety protocols at the Westin. Here are the policies and procedures they are following presently: https://whattoexpect.marriott.com/boswi Members of our planning committee are monitoring https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/fully-vaccinated-guidance.html several times a day. We are spreading out the seating as best as we can and will have masks and sanitization stations available. We will also be trying out something new at registration which will allow for more social distancing.

Locations of two testing facilities are posted on the Symposium website, and a Know Before you Go document will be posted and emailed to registrants in the next few days if it has not been done already. Please note that masks are required on the MBTA (public transit) and in ride shares here in Boston, so be sure to have one on hand.

Have a terrific week!

Be well,

Erin
