Last week, we had the wonderful opportunity to hear from several speakers for the Train the Director series on Developing and Unbiased Culture in Your Laboratory. If you were able to attend, that is great. If you were unable to attend, please know these are being archived for your convenience.
Our Training and Education Committee has the next installment lined up and it will equally as exciting. The presentation will demonstrate the effectiveness of integrating 3D technology into the forensic firearm/toolmark discipline and the decision analysis for selecting samples for virtual comparison.
The Missouri Attorney General’s Office is in search of accredited, QAS qualified laboratories with both interest and capacity for testing and CODIS upload of their SAKI kits by June 2022. Please see the scope of work here which contains contact information if there are questions.

The Center for Statistics and Applications in Forensic Evidence (CSAFE) invites you to the 2021 Field Update to learn more about our activities and accomplishments from the past year. Our team of researchers will highlight the Center’s current research projects, and give you information and tools you can use. The Field Update will provide you a chance to give feedback, suggestions or ask questions. The event is free and will be presented June 14th from 11am-4pm CDT.

This course provides an introduction to the validation and verification of analytical methods and the common elements of a validation or verification plan. The ASCLD Forensic Research Committee is proud to announce the next episode of a virtual “Lightning Talks” series to highlight new and emerging research in all areas of forensic science. Each episode will feature three short talks given by practitioners, researchers, and/or students. The eighth episode will be held on Thursday June 3rd at 1:00 EST and will focus on Vicarious Trauma, Stress, and Burnout. It will feature talks by Dr. Amanda Farrell from Marymount University on tackling stress and trauma in forensics, Dr. Thomas Holt from Michigan State University on responses to stress among digital forensic examiners, and Justin Goldstein from Texas State University on perceptions of wellness in forensics.
