Hi Everyone,

Sandra McLennon is keeping her promise to share photos from the 2025 ASD and ASDAA Homecoming events with our new Constant Contact publisher—better late than never!

The ASDAA Core Circle/Board truly appreciates your support: cheering on the girls’ volleyball and boys’ soccer teams, purchasing food from ASDAA, volunteering to help set up the ASDAA arch, painting faces, using the bounce house, hosting booths, visiting the Cogswell Heritage House (CHH), and so much more.

We hope you enjoy looking through the photos!

ASD HOMECOMING EVENTS

(October 3-4, 2025)

The golfers proudly represented ASDAA at the ASD fundraising event. Thank you for your support!

This is the first gymnasium building on the ASD campus, which opened on February 9, 1925.

This year marks its 100th anniversary—a wonderful milestone to celebrate!

On September 7, 1925, the Gallaudet statue was officially unveiled, accompanied by Alice Cogswell. This year celebrates the 100th anniversary of this historic occasion.

ASD staff member Krystal Sonidis created beautiful “100th Anniversary” sashes for the ASDAA Core Circle.

Thank you for your creativity and contribution!

These items—a silver salver and a silver pitcher—are housed at the Gallaudet Clerc Educational Center (GCEC). They were presented to Messrs. Gallaudet and Clerc on September 25, 1850, and are highlighted in recognition of the 175th anniversary.

For the first time, the ASDAA Core Circle/Board carried and displayed the ASDAA logo banner during the ASD Homecoming events as part of the Class Reunions Parade.

Community members were also invited to visit the ASDAA booth in the Brewster Gymnasium.

At the Brewster gymnasium, there are different booths included the ASDAA booth.

ASDAA sells food such as hot dogs, cheeseburgers, hamburgers, and veggie burgers beside the soccer field

Thanks to the volunteers who cooked the food.

We honored the ASD's four seniors by having them parade with the rest of the Class Reunions and the ASDAA Core Circle/Board.

We, the ASDAA Core Circle (CC)/Board, thanked Mark Hughey '76 for encouraging them about the two special occasions. Sandra McLennon '74 consulted with Jean Linderman, the ASD Archivist, to research the history of the Brewster Gymnasium and the replica of Thomas H. Gallaudet and Alice Cogswell.

Two artificial wreaths were displayed on the Gallaudet and Alice Cogswell statue, as well as on the Brewster Gymnasium, to celebrate their 100th anniversary.

Five members of the ASDAA Core Circle/Board had the pleasure of meeting Laurent Holt, the great-great-great-great-grandson of Laurent Clerc, at the Cogswell Heritage House (thee former superintendent’s house).
