The ASES 2018 Specialty Day Meeting is taking place this coming March of 2018 in New Orleans, Louisiana. If you have not yet registered, and you are planning to attend, please see the  AAOS website to register. Online registration will remain open until Sunday, March 4th. If you do not register by that time, you can register onsite in New Orleans starting on Friday, March 9th. If you plan to register for Specialty Day only (and not the AAOS meeting), you cannot do so until Friday, March 9th (onsite).

Below is a link to the ASES Specialty Day Program schedule developed by program co-chairs, Joshua S. Dines, MD, and Joaquin Sanchez-Sotelo, MD, PhD, and the 2018 Specialty Day Program Committee.  During the last hour of the 2018 program, ASES will be joined by the Musculoskeletal Infection Society. Please plan to attend!

Joint AJSM/JSES Facebook Live Event

Mark your Calendars! The American Journal of Sports Medicine ( AJSM) has teamed up with the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery ( JSES) to go Facebook Live! from Specialty Day at the AAOS Meeting in New Orleans! This live event will provide an opportunity for AJSM and JSES authors to discuss their work with readers in both an online and in-person setting, with ample time set aside for Q&A. During this free event, participants will be able to pose questions by either attending the broadcast in person or via the AJSM Facebook page!
Moderated by Bob Arciero, MD and Jed Kuhn, MD, Drs. Laurent Lafosse and Larry Higgins will discuss how the Latarjet procedure can be used to restore "off-track" Hill-Sachs Lesions as well as the cost-effectiveness of an arthroscopic Bankart versus Latarjet approach.

Again this year the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons are partnering with the San Diego Shoulder Institute (SDSI) on a symposium for graduating Shoulder & Elbow and Sports Fellows. The 2018 ASES Fellow’s Symposium  on June 22, 2018 will feature short abstract presentations by fellows as well as presentations by established ASES members with guidance for fellows moving forward in their careers. Posters by current fellows will also be presented.
Anyone registered for the SDSI meeting will be welcome to attend the  ASES Fellow’s Symposium . More information will be coming soon.
The U.S. Bone and Joint Initiative (USBJI) is pleased to announce advance publication of the Fourth Edition Big Picture and Economic Cost chapters in The Burden of Musculoskeletal Diseases in the United States (BMUS).
A new chapter on Neuromuscular Diseases is also being released at this time, as part of the forthcoming Fourth Edition.
Fourth Edition chapters will be released under advance publication until all are complete. Until that time, the Third Edition remains the latest complete edition.
More than 95,000 people have accessed the Third Edition of BMUS, widely cited and used for advocacy, education, and research purposes.
