Our music program during Tartan Week shone the spotlight onto many acts who are not well know yet over here - or have not performed here

One such artist is Jai McDowall who won Britains Got Talent in 2011 and had never been over here to the States, let alone experienced and performed during NY Tartan Week.

This week on Sounds From Scotland, we do a roundup of artists who joined us this year for the ASF Supper Club and at Bryant Park.

This is part of Two Parts - with us bringing you more bands and artists in May. This months performances include Whisky Kiss, The Laurettes, Jai McDowall, Calum Pasqua, Noisemaker and Ainsley Hamill.

April - May Highland Games Schedule

Check with your local Scottish organizations to learn how they are celebrating National Tartan Day.

The American-Scottish Foundation is delighted to update you on the most recent data we've been able to find on upcoming highland games, Celtic festivals and related events throughout North America.

Tartan Day (officially April 6) is celebrated in so many locales, we cannot list all the details, but sites include: New York City, Washington DC, Colorado, North Carolina Triangle, South Carolina (4 cities) and Los Angeles.

This list is by no means a complete one, but gives some indication of the breadth of events honoring Scotland and the historic Declaration of Arbroath (look it up if you are unfamiliar with this hallmark of Scottish history).

Please note the following events, with details always subject to change.
