It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of Simon Sawicki, the father of Leo Sawicki in 2nd grade. Simon fought a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Please keep Leo and his family in your thoughts. If you are able, consider donating to his GoFundMe page to help with medical expenses.

The Sawicki family is grateful for the love and support of the ASFS community.

ASFS Volunteers - we want to THANK YOU!

Attention Volunteers! Please join us for a volunteer reception on Tuesday, May 16th at 7pm in the ASFS library.  We will have refreshments and a small gift for all of our amazing volunteers. We hope you'll stay for the PTA meeting that will follow at 7:30pm.

ASFS Kidsgiving: Thank You for Supporting KidsGiving

This month, KidsGiving is highlighting Aspire! Afterschool Learningwhose mission is to expand learning opportunities that help historically underserved young people fulfill their potential through afterschool and summer learning programs.

How you can help: As part of Aspire’s vision that all students have access to age-appropriate books, ASFS KidsGiving is hosting a ‘free’ book fair for Aspire students and their siblings. We are collecting 'like new' used book donations in the collection bin in the ASFS Lobby through dismissal on Wednesday, May 3rd.

- Books should be in ‘almost new’ condition and popular series or titles.

- All age level books (board books through middle school) are welcome.

In addition, ASFS 3rd grade is sponsoring a project with Phoenix Bikesan Arlington nonprofit that uniquely combines youth education programs with a full-service professional bike shop and retail store. Phoenix Bikes is seeking used bike donations - visit phoenixbikes.org/donate-a-bike/ for more details on how to donate your used bikes to help their cause, and please spread the word to your friends and neighbors. Thank you!

All ASFS students are encouraged to sign up for KidsGiving anytime to learn more, or email Dena Porter if you have questions or would like to get involved.
