This webinar will introduce a package, immunogenetr, for the R programming language that facilitates informatics for clinical HLA data. Nicholas Brown, PhD, F(ACHI), will provide a real-time demonstration of the functions of the package, including the ability to easily coerce HLA typing data into genotype list string (GL string) format, working with HLA data in GL string format, searching for a specific HLA allele within a GL string, and computing HLA matches and mismatches. Dr. Brown will discuss how these functions can be used in the clinical HLA laboratory. By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify the types of data produced by clinical HLA labs
- Understand the structure and benefits of the GL string format
- Understand the main functions of immunogenetr
- Begin using the package in their clinical informatics processes
