ASHI on the Hill

In the first quarter of 2022, ASHI has continued to closely monitor developments surrounding potential regulatory changes to laboratory developed tests (LDTs) used in support of transplantation. While much of the attention in this arena has been placed on competing legislative proposals concerning broader LDT regulatory jurisdiction, including the Verifying Accurate Leading-edge IVCT Development (VALID) Act of 2021 and the Verified Innovative Testing in American Laboratories (VITAL) Act, ASHI is now working to combat a recent regulatory development specific to a narrow category of tests, including Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) tests. 2022 HT-1 Survey

The first ASHI PT shipment of 2022 - the HT-1 survey - will ship on Tuesday, March 8^th.

2022 ASHI PT Resources

Participating laboratories are encouraged to avail themselves of the many resources laboratories can use to learn more about the result entry and PT grading processes. The PT Operations Manual located on ASHI’s PT page contains grading information. Survey instructions for entering PT results for each survey are available in the ASHI PT Lab Center.

2021 VXM-2 Analysis

The analysis of the second virtual crossmatch (VXM-2) of 2021 was released on February 22^nd and is available on ASHI’s PT page.
