18th Congress of the Middle East Society for Organ Transplantation (MESOT)

The 18th Congress of the Middle East Society for Organ Transplantation (MESOT) will be held on May 24-26, 2023 in Ankara, Turkey. Transplantation activities in MESOT countries are growing daily and the quality of the medical and surgical treatment provided for the patients is on par with the most developed countries in the world.

 

The 18th Congress of the MESOT will be an ideal opportunity to share and learn from each other. 2023 HT-1 Survey

The first ASHI PT shipment of 2023 - the HT-1 survey - will ship on Tuesday, March 7th.


2023 ASHI PT Resources

Participating laboratories are encouraged to review PT information available on ASHI ’s PT Resource page. To learn more about PT result entry, PT grading processes, policies, restrictions, and laboratory responsibilities, access the PT Operations Manual. In addition, instructions for entering PT results for each survey are available in the ASHI PT Lab Center.


2022 VXM-2 Analysis

The analysis of the second virtual crossmatch (VXM-2) of 2022 was released on February 10 and is available on the PT page of ASHI’s website.

Call for ASHI Award Nominations

Each year the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI) sponsors several awards to recognize scientific accomplishments and contributions to the fields of histocompatibility and immunogenetics as well as service to the Society. ASHI is currently accepting nominations for the following awards:


  • J. Marilyn MacQueen Rising Star Award
  • Distinguished Service Award
  • Bernard Amos Distinguished Scientist Award 
  • Rose Payne Award
  • Outstanding Technologist Award


The nominations deadline for all ASHI awards is May 12, 2023. Learn More

Call for ASHI Board Nominations

The ASHI Leadership Development Taskforce encourages all ASHI members to nominate candidates for the available officer and board positions. If there are candidates whom you feel would be an asset to the ASHI Board of Directors, please complete and submit this nomination form. All nominations must be accompanied by the signatures of at least 10 full or honorary members in good standing. Emailed endorsements are accepted.

 

During the week of April 3rd, the Leadership Development Taskforce will forward its preliminary slate of candidates to the ASHI membership. This will allow members time to submit additional nominations by the April 14th deadline.

ASHI on the Hill

As the 117th Congress neared its conclusion in December of last year, ASHI’s dedicated advocacy yielded significant results. Specifically, as Congress developed and passed comprehensive legislation to fund the government and advance numerous health care policies, ASHI successfully worked with allies in Congress to avert Protecting Access to Medicare Act (PAMA)-related cuts to HLA laboratory reimbursement and ensure that regulation of laboratory developed tests (LDTs) remained solely under the jurisdiction of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA). Read More
