ASIP mourns the loss of the victims of the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting
The past seven days have been marked by violence and the threat of violence across the United States…package bombs sent to politicians and the news media motivated by rabid partisan politics…and hate crimes in Pittsburgh PA and Jeffersontown KY motivated by race and religion that resulted in the murder of 13 individuals. These are the incidents that we know about. It is likely there have been others that have not made the national news, but are equally disturbing, senseless, and tragic. The ASIP sends our collective condolences to the strong contingent of ASIP members in Pittsburgh PA and all those affected by these recent acts of violence. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and their friends. We also express our tremendous appreciation for local, state, and federal law enforcement officers that are working tirelessly to keep everyone safe. Our hope is that this most recent wave of violence sparked by politics and hate will soon diminish and eventually cease. Until then, we encourage all of our members to be vigilant in everyday social and professional interactions and stay safe.
