Create Beauty Design Conference
Friday, March 21, 2025 Longmont Museum
400 Quail Road | Longmont, Colorado
Join us for the seventh annual Create Beauty Conference this March. We are thrilled to welcome Hans Hesslein and Martha Keen of Apiary Studio as our keynote speakers. Based in Philadelphia, their firm, Apiary Studio, has been at the forefront of regenerative landscapes with a thoughtful approach to sustainable design. In an industry where waste is almost unavoidable, Apiary Studio asks not just how to improve a site, but how to utilize the existing materials in a new way that better serves the client, the community and the surrounding ecology. Their philosophy that what is best for people is also best for the earth drives their modus operandi for each project, resulting in gardens that are distinctively unique.

This Week’s Sponsor's Highlight: Summit Recreation
Summit Recreation, together with KOMPAN, understands that protecting our children goes beyond safety surfacing and compliant playgrounds. Protecting our children also means protecting the world that will be handed down to them.
| |
|
We do more than talk about the importance of preserving our environment and limiting waste. KOMPAN believes that children have the right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment, and that’s why we have made a commitment to minimize our carbon footprint at every stage of manufacturing and production without compromising safety or quality.
KOMPAN playgrounds are now made with up to 95% post-consumer recycled materials such as ocean waste, used textiles, food packaging waste, plastic bags, etc. Green Sheets are available for all KOMPAN products that state the CO2 footprint and recycled content plus they have a third-party verification from Bureau Veritas, ensuring that we can stand behind our word.
| |
|
THE NEW STANDARD: WE ONLY DO GREEN
Design freedom and increased sustainability are not mutually exclusive; they go hand in hand. Our playground solutions can be as colorful as your heart desires – but with a dramatically reduced carbon footprint. All KOMPAN playgrounds are made using the highest possible recycled content with a focus on sustainability, not just certain product offerings.
| |
|
Made Green products are made of up to 95% post-consumer recycled materials: ocean waste, used textiles, used plastic bags, etc and are available in all of our vibrant hues. Made Green products have approximately 50% reductions in carbon emissions compared to traditional products made from virgin sources. KOMPAN EcoCore panels are not only recyclable after use but they have a core made of 100% post-consumer recycled materials. KOMPAN is committed to lowering the use of virgin materials and ensuring that all playgrounds are recyclable at the end of their useful lifecycle.
| |
|
Born Green means products are made from natural hardwoods like Robinia. Robinia is highly durable and does not require any chemical wood preservatives. KOMPAN Robinia products are also available with a FSC® certification (C004450). The Robinia wood is harvested with zero deforestation; the trees are harvested responsibly, so there is no net forest loss over time.
| |
KOMPAN is taking a crucial step to protect our environment – we owe it to ourselves, to our children, and to future generations. We are not satisfied with merely developing products; we aim to create the playgrounds of the future, where increased sustainability is an integral part of every playground. We have developed ground-breaking new materials for our playground solutions because we aim to demonstrate to our customers that greener playgrounds are possible – without compromising safety, durability, competitive prices, or play value. By using recycled materials and working closely with our suppliers, we have ensured that our products have a significantly smaller environmental footprint. Through innovative solutions, we have found ways to maintain, and even increase, the quality and safety of our products – without increasing prices.
