The Landscaping with Colorado Native Plants Conference promotes the inclusion of native plants in our landscaping to benefit pollinators and songbirds, save water, and restore the beauty and health of nature in the places we live, work and play.  While we recommend the use of straight species and local ecotypes wherever possible, we support the use of varieties and cultivars of native species as long as their breeding doesn’t interfere with their ability to function in nature and maintain key relationships with pollinators and other lives.

CU Denver Scholarship for Landscape Architecture Students
In order to make a tangible difference for underrepresented students and inspire them to help the world through Landscape Architecture, Dig Studio worked with the University of Colorado Denver to establish a scholarship specifically for MLA students in Landscape Architecture, as a component of their Justice Equity Diversity and Inclusion Fund (JEDI). Based on this input, the University has enabled the JEDI donation process to include direct donations to the Landscape Architecture Program in support of scholarships for underrepresented students. As a sign of their commitment, Dig Studio has pledged $10,000 to the fund by 2023 and has challenged other Colorado and Wyoming landscape architecture firms to meet or beat their donation!

LEED Green Associate Training

LEED is simply a sustainability scorecard for green buildings. Buildings can become LEED Certified as can people! The best way to break into the sustainability space is to attain the LEED Green Associate. It also shows employers and clients you have certified knowledge in the field. Since the LEED GA exam doesn’t have a stellar pass rate, the value of the extra letters behind your name will carry even more weight. ASLA Colorado members can receive $50 off the course price by using the discount code “sust”.

University of Colorado College of Architecture and Planning
Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Support Fund

The Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) scholarship fund in the College of Architecture and Planning was created to provide opportunities for minority students in the MLA program, to assist with the financial burden of a graduate degree. The profession of Landscape Architecture lacks minority representation across all levels and for this to change, we need financial support for students to take the first step toward becoming landscape architects. “If you wish to donate specifically to the LA program, please note "FOR JEDI LANDSCAPE USE" in the comments box on the second page of the form as you make their gift.”
