will give us a glimpse into the state of the photography industry from their prospective.
Michael is an industry professional having worked for companies like Sinar Bron, Profoto and digital integrator Mega Pixels Digital with Phase One. His experiences range from helping Kohl’s Department stores transition from film to digital capture (not a popular idea at the time) to having his personal work supported by several grants including a NEA. Having had success both as a business leader and a creative artisit these wide ranging experiences have given Michael unique insights regarding the present state of the photo industry and what the future may hold.
Michael will be leading an open discussion about the photo industry as we know it. He will be sharing observations from the many collaborations with photo businesses large and small, fine art and commercial, and leading a discussion designed to provide context and insight as we seek to navigate the unknowns of the digital future.

Find A Photographer
There’s another benefit of ASMP membership, and this one could actually make you money: A gallery in
Find A Photographer
.
Find A Photographer is a national, searchable listing of qualified pros hosted by ASMP. Potential clients find it when they search for “photographers in Denver” or “hire a photographer.” And there’s only one way to get on there: Join at the
Professional
level.
Say you specialize in editorial, portraits, and corporate. Post a few killer images, list yourself in those categories, and future clients from all over will find you when they need someone here in Colorado. They’ll see key sample images, basic contact information, and links to social and websites. You can also write a bio, which can contain testimonials or excerpts from Google or LinkedIn reviews.
And here’s a tip: I have found that your best bet will be on quality editorial, advertorial, and corporate shooting styles. Leave off the family portraits and high-end advertising images.
ASMP is all about business development and camaraderie, but having the phone ring occasionally (about three times a year in my case) with a shoot really drives the ROI part of the equation, especially when they become repeat clients.

Matt Kelley
is a photographer and content creator based out of Denver Colorado. Now going into his fourth year of living in Denver, Matt enjoys discovering new places to shoot, new places to eat and new places for the occasional bourbon. He loves to adventure with his wife and two dogs to anywhere with a camera. Matt primarily photographs concerts, baseball and other live events, however, he is always interested in a challenge and learning something new. You can find Matt at Coors Field during baseball season as a live content creator for Major League Baseball. A
s someone who has followed and been a part of baseball since they were a child, this
is a lifelong dream come true.
