ASMP Member Feature: Dan Petty
Dan Petty is the digital director of audience development at MediaNews Group, the parent company of publications including The Denver Post, Orange County Register, San Jose Mercury News and Boston Herald. He leads efforts to build loyal and engaged audiences on the company's digital platforms, with a focus on content strategy for newsletters, photography, social media, mobile applications and digital subscriptions. Prior to that role, he spent seven years at the Denver Post as senior editor, multimedia journalist, social media editor and digital producer, working in the news and sports departments. He co-owns A&D Creative with his wife, Anya, and specializes in weddings, engagements, events, portraits, editorial and sports photography. He attended the Eddie Adams Workshop for emerging photojournalists in 2012. Since 2017, he has completed several consulting projects with news organizations in Kazakhstan at the invitation of the U.S. State Department. He and his wife welcomed their first child, a daughter, in January, and he's currently pursuing an executive MBA at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Special Coffee with Nikon's Jeff Mitchell and Michael Dionne

Join us as we team up with Mike's Camera for a conversation with Nikon Senior District Account Manager Jeff Mitchell and the local NPS rep for Colorado, Michael Dionne. They will talk for 30 minutes about Nikon followed by Q & A.
Jeff Mitchell has been involved in photography for almost 40 years. He currently works for Nikon Inc as a Senior Account manager and has been a member of the Nikon team for over 15 years.
Jeff received his BA in photography from Columbia College where in addition to being a student, he managed the facilities and the Photo Teaching Assistant program. After leaving Columbia, Jeff pursued advanced education and enrolled in the MFA program at Syracuse University. He went to Syracuse on a full scholarship and he taught there while participating in their MFA program. He shoots a variety of subjects and is interested in many aspects of photography.
Currently Jeff’s subject matter revolves around his family and includes sports photography, travel photography and portraiture. Jeff is well versed in sports, portrait and landscape photography and understands many aspects of Nikon’s system. He has a passion for helping people capture images in their life to preserve and share special moments.

Michael first picked up a Nikon SLR in 2003 and discovered a passion for photography. Through his experiences studying photography in college, working in camera stores, and shooting professionally, Michael has become educated and experienced in photographing a wide variety of subjects. Since joining Nikon in 2018, Michael has enjoyed sharing his experience by teaching photo classes and working with photographers at national events and at camera stores across the country.
