ASMP Member Feature: Stephen Collector

Stephen Collector is a long-time professional photographer and is a board member of the Frank Waters Foundation and a long-time member of the ASMP and OWAA. He began shooting for national magazines in the late 70s, never losing sight of the art of black and white film photography. His photography has been featured in Esquire, Men’s Journal, Sports Afield, the New York Times, Outside, and German Geo. His writing has appeared in The flyfish Journal, American Angler, and Anglers Journal. Books include; Law of the Range; Portraits of Old-Time Brand Inspectors and Journeys to Ancient America. His fine art photography has been exhibited at the Wyoming State Museum, Wichita Art Museum, Roswell Museum, Sangre de Cristo Arts Center, and the John Connor Museum. He was an artist in residence at Mesa Verde National Park in 2010 and an artist in residence at the Frank Waters Foundation in Arroyo Seco, NM in 2012. He calls the Rockies home and has photographed extensively from Alaska to Mexico. Partial to Brittanys and brook trout, he resides in Boulder, CO.

He serves as General Counsel for the American Society of Media Photographers, one of the oldest and largest commercial photography trade associations in the United States. Thomas is a member in good standing of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States, the Bar of the 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 9th Circuit Courts of Appeals, and the State of Texas.

ASMP 2020 Photo Contest

BEST of ASMP is a members-only contest and it is designed to showcase the important work of ASMP members from photos/videos taken between December 1, 2019 and December 31, 2020. Non-members can join ASMP to participate in the contest. Last year ASMP CO had two winners, Steven Begleiter and Howard Paul.

The CASE Act: Join the Fall 2020 Senate Clicks Campaign!
