ASMP Summer BBQ September 5th at Chimera! • BBQ Dinner with options for vegetarians will be served at 6:00. • Mike’s Camera and Sony have teamed up to bring you the latest information on their products. Ever wonder, “Why medium format digital? Why Profoto introduced TTL into pro packs? Why there are so many sizes of the Chimera Octabox?” Michael Gray of Mega Pixels Digital will lead a discussion and demonstration that answers these questions and more. The demonstration will be followed by hands on with the tools so you can see (shoot) for yourself. • Chimera will be giving plant tours and introduce you to their latest lighting products. Step Forward and Take a Chapter Office or Coordinator Role Recently, ASMP National said of the Colorado Chapter, “Your chapter is doing great things. I wish we could clone you for other chapters to use!” The vigor with which Colorado chapter members engage means that we are the fifth largest ASMP chapter in the nation, behind only New York, L.A., Boston and San Francisco!   Our chapter has a dedicated, energized board and we want to carry its momentum forward next year. This means infusing the leadership with some fresh faces and continuing energy. Later this year we will elect a president, vice-president and secretary/treasurer. And some of our other board members will leave or take on other positions; what is your interest?  · President? VP? Spotlight on ASMP Professional Member David Lauer David Lauer has been immersed in the visual arts for over 25 years. During 2011 he was the Co-Visual Effects Supervisor of the team that won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects in the feature film “Life of Pi.” His emergence as a successful architectural photographer began in one of the world’s premier design cities, Los Angeles. He has since relocated to Denver, Colorado, a city with rapid urban growth and its own vibrant design community. Lauer’s client’s range from leading architects, interior designers and developers to installation artists and landscape design firms. His work can be seen in a multitude of design magazines including Dwell and Architectural Digest and books by Thames & Hudson.
