Pearls from the Pros -- Dr. Matthew Amans

In the latest installment of “Pearls from the Pros,” Dr. Mary Maher interviews Dr. Matthew Amans, Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology of Neuro Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Neuroradiology at UCSF. He completed Diagnostic Radiology residency at Weill Cornell Medical College in 2011. From 2011-2012, Dr. Amans was a Diagnostic Neuroradiology fellow at UCSF and then worked as an attending Neuroradiologist at UCSF San Francisco General Hospital. Subsequently, he completed a two-year Neurointerventional Radiology fellowship at UCSF.

Two Foundation of the ASNR Grant Opportunities

The Foundation of the ASNR invites you to apply for these grant opportunities:

• The new Aldon Mark Berger Mental Health Imaging Research Grant: One grant will be awarded with the total funding amount of up to $220,000 over 2 years. The new grant provides funding for neuroimaging research to better understand the pathophysiological underpinnings of behavioral health and mental health disorders with the goal of improving treatment and outcomes. 

• The Foundation of the ASNR Grant Program: Four grants will be awarded with the total funding amount of up to $120,000 each. This streamlined grant system is presented annually to support members of the ASNR who demonstrate great promise for future contributions to the field of neuroradiology and whose proposed project best embodies the goals of the Foundation of the ASNR.
