Pearls from the Pros -- Patricia Rhyner, MD, FACR

In the latest installment of “Pearls from the Pros,” Dr. Xin (Cynthia) Wu interviews Dr. Patricia Rhyner, Professor of Radiology at Mayo Clinic Florida campus. Her former appointment was Professor with Tenure in Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences, Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA, where she practiced for over 30 years.

From the interview: "When it comes to writing academic literature, the biggest time sink with the smallest return is a book chapter. However, I always said yes if the chapter was on a topic I didn’t know much about. Of course, my startup time is going to be long because I’m going to have to read all the other chapters and articles out there on this topic. Once you’ve done the background work, the writing becomes much easier, and now you’re the expert on the topic." Read the full interview here.

Save the Date: ASNR Trainee Research Grant

The Foundation of the ASNR will be accepting applications for the 2023 Trainee Research Grant in Neuroradiology beginning on July 11, 2023. New for 2023: Four grants will be funded at $5,000 each. All applications must be received by Monday, September 11, 9:00 am CST. To view the grant guidelines, please visit the Foundation website.
