ASPAN mourns the passing of Lisa Peck Jeran, BSN, RN, CPAN, past President of the American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (1997–1998). Lisa was a visionary leader and fierce advocate for change. A past president and ASPAN Director for the Maine Association of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (MESPAN), Lisa set the standard for ASPAN’s current governance structure as well as the society’s role as the primary source of evidence-based standards and guidelines for our specialty during her tenure as ASPAN president.

ASPAN Reorganization Update

One Voice. One Vision. Better Care.


ASPAN continues to move forward with the national reorganization initiative approved by the Representative Assembly at the ASPAN National Conference. This initiative will transition ASPAN’s current 40 Components into 10 Regions, creating stronger and more sustainable structures to support members and advance the specialty of PeriAnesthesia nursing.

PANAC Fresno Chapter Hosts an Engaging Educational Evening


The PANAC Fresno Chapter recently came together for an evening of learning, connection, and camaraderie. Members earned 1.5 CE credits through a discussion of ASPAN Learn’s An Innovative Method to Debrief Critical Events before enjoying a wine tasting and homemade pizza at Ziveli Winery. It was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen professional knowledge while connecting with fellow perianesthesia nurses.
