Dear Families:

As you know from previous communications, ASU Preparatory Academy leadership has been closely following events and public health recommendations surrounding the outbreak and spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). We have been busy planning and preparing for the possibility of transitioning to an online teaching and learning environment to help manage the potential spread of COVID-19.

In preparation, we will implement the following:
  • On Monday, March 16 Spring Break will be extended, and school will not be in session.
  • Beginning Tuesday, March 17, ASU Prep will transition from in-person learning to online instruction to ensure learning continuity for our ASU Prep Phoenix, ASU Prep Poly, ASU Prep Tempe and ASU Prep South Phoenix campuses. Classes will continue in this mode for a minimum of two weeks, at which time ASU Prep will assess where things stand with COVID-19.
  • When ASU Prep Casa Grande returns from Spring Break on Monday, March 23 they will also immediately adopt an online instruction model through the week of their return.
  • Additional information will follow from us with specific instruction for families on how to transition to online instruction.

Although our campuses will be unavailable, we do not want to impact our students’ abilities to learn. Please stay tuned for communications from your school principals and your student’s teachers regarding next steps for continued learning. If you have previously notified us that your student does not have access to a learning device or internet, we will contact you individually. As we have mentioned in our last communication, we will share regular communications every Thursday, and as important updates are needed.

Note: We have been deep cleaning the sites that are closed for Spring Break this week and will deep clean sites closed for Spring Break next wee k. All extra-curricular events have been canceled. Transportation will not be in effect until our campuses resume operation. If your family relies on our free and reduced lunch program, you can notify us confidentially by emailing [email protected] and we will work with you individually. If you have other questions, including how we will handle credits and refunds for lunch or preschool fees, please visit our FAQs page .

In the meantime, we will continue to partner with you in encouraging our students to carry on with their learning, with care for the health of the ASU Prep community. Thank you for your help with implementing this online learning continuity plan. Please stay in communication with your principal and teachers on the next steps, and keep an eye out for network updates on Thursdays and as needed.

Together, we will meet this challenge and grow together.
