Fleet additions unveiled at CES

We're thrilled to announce additions to our highly-successful Automated Research Development Platform. We will unveil additions to our fleet of automated R&D Platforms, complete with customized modular-based software at 2017’s Consumer Electronics Show.

CES 2016 marked the debut of our original platform, based on the Lincoln MKZ. We’re happy to continue the tradition, introducing Platforms based on the Ford Fusion, Polaris Ranger and Polaris GEM (see all above in our festive holiday banner) at this year’s show. The Platform combines four core components — a by-wire vehicle; customizable perception, positioning and data storage kits; middleware; and software applications — to create a safe, reliable and robust solution for autonomy.

CES 2017 - Roadmap to Autonomy

At CES 2017, the AutonomouStuff team and partners will provide a “Roadmap to Autonomy.” We will host meetings and a cocktail party in our MGM Skyline Terrace Suite and we’re proud of the fact that we will make a huge impact in various locations throughout the show. AutonomouStuff will be well represented in various partners’ booths, suites and demonstration vehicles. Whether it be first-class hardware sensors on a demo car, the demo car itself, support from experienced engineers, custom-built software modules or any combination of these and other services, AutonomouStuff will be all over CES 2017.

Now supporting ROS

Our commitment to our customers has always been about Bringing Together the World's Best Technologies™. One of the core technologies required for robotics automated driving research is the middleware.  AutonomouStuff now offers full support of the popular middleware solution, ROS. This includes sensor drivers, simulation, automation application development, sensor referencing, record/reply, visualization, data collection/storage and much more.

We’ve chosen ROS as our preferred middleware for internal development and for new customers due to the massive global community contributions and our own ability to provide world class support to our customers. We've built and will maintain drivers (open source, if possible) for all of the most popular sensors. We will also offer many modular-based software solutions including simulation models. Keep an eye out for ROS 2.0 beta which will be built on top of DDS (Data Distribution Service) and RTPS (Real-Time Publish-Subscribe).

Giving back

AutonomouStuff CEO Bobby Hambrick is passionate about giving back and he has built a team with similar values. Bobby gives AutonomouStuff employees many opportunities to get out and give back (both locally and industry-wide). One of the most recent outings included volunteering with Habitat for Humanity as a team.

AutonomouStuff's culture of giving is one of the things that sets us apart as an ideal workplace and partner.

AutonomouStuff events

The AutonomouStuff team has been very busy lately! Last month we partnered with Sense Media to bring the inaugural Self-Driving Track Days event to the UK. We loved coming together with our partners for such an exciting even and can't wait for the next one in May!

We also attended WeConect's Tech.AD in Detroit. Our demo car garnered a lot of attention and we had a great time connecting with the crowd.

Next on the agenda is CES 2017. As mentioned previously, we have big plans for CES. Don't miss it!

This month's favorite: Curtis Jackson

Here at AutonomouStuff we take pride in our employees. This month we'd like to introduce you to one of our marketing associates, Curtis "CJ" Jackson.

CJ has been with us for about six months and has added a lot of value to our team. He says:

"Technological advances take time. It took radio 38 years to reach 50 million people. The Angry Birds app did it in 35 days. Since joining this team, I’ve watched this amazing group of men and women at AutonomouStuff build what could be the foundation of autonomy for decades to come. Who knows where we’ll be tomorrow."

It's employees like CJ that make AutonomouStuff what it is. Thanks for being a rockstar, CJ!
