Annual Member Survey: Help Tell Our Story
|
|
|
|
The ATEC annual survey is underway. The purpose of the questionnaire is to assess key trends in aviation maintenance education, gather demographics of the entering workforce, support industry recruitment programs and initiatives, and guide future association activities and priorities.
The survey polls US-based educational institutions with aviation technical programs. Aggregate results will be published in the
ATEC Pipeline Report
in December, along with the list of participating schools. Specific identifying information regarding programs offered, current enrollment, graduation expectations and dates will also be included in ATEC’s
online school directory
.
Earlier today, ATEC sent each aviation program's designated "primary contact" a link to the survey. If your school did not receive an invitation to participate or would like to confirm your school's primary contact, please email
atec@atec-amt.org
.
Since data from various sources may be required to complete the survey, respondents are advised to collect information before beginning an electronic submission. To aid those efforts, a PDF version of the questionnaire is available
here
.
Survey responses are due Nov. 12.

ATEC Ushers in Next Phase of Development
|
Last month, the ATEC board introduced new initiatives aimed at addressing the significant workforce needs in aviation maintenance. On Sept. 30, members received a
letter from ATEC President Gary Hoyle
setting forth the revised
Flightplan
.
|
First and foremost, the Board elected to create a new 501(c)(3) organization that will implement initiatives to increase career awareness in aviation maintenance.
Choose Aerospace
will also facilitate a new scholarship program; the suite of awards available exclusively to ATEC member schools, instructors, and students, will publish in December.
The revised
Flightplan
renews the council's focus on enhanced member outreach and community opportunities through support staff expansion. A new website with enhanced member portal capabilities will publish in the summer.
To support these new endeavors,
the ATEC board elected to increase dues for all membership categories from $350 to $600 annually, effective January 1, 202
0. Invoices with the new 2020 member rates were delivered to all current members last month.
