Celebrating 150 Years
National Aviation Maintenance Technician Day, celebrated on the birth date of the first mechanic, recognizes the contributions of aviation maintenance professionals.

Introducing the Summer Webinar Series
ATEC is offering online webinars on topics of interest to aviation maintenance instructors. All sessions run 30-60 minutes, registered attendees will receive an attendance certificate at the conclusion of the webinar.  Read more.

ATEC is reaching out to the aviation maintenance community on the local level. The council will hold events in Pensacola and Daytona Beach on June 5 and August 9. Read more.

Get Engaged: Register for the ATEC Fly-In
On Sept. 12-14, 2018, attendees will crisscross the nation’s capital to meet members of Congress, staffers, regulators and industry allies to sound a unified message: Help aviation maintenance schools build the technical workforce of the future. Read more.
Senators Introduce Legislation to Address Part 147
Senators Hatch (R-UT), Cantwell (D-WA), Inhofe (R-OK), and Blumenthal (D-CT) introduced a bill that would require FAA promulgation of a new part 147 within six months. Read more.
Take Action: Tell Congress to Support Workforce Bill
The bill would create a new grant program to facilitate industry-education partnerships. Visit the Aeronautical Repair Station Association's action center with specific instructions for reaching out to your member of Congress. Read more.

Industry Seeks Objective Criteria for Operations Specifications
A coalition of aviation industry organizations delivered a letter to the FAA seeking objective criteria for adding and reviewing paragraphs to any certificate holder’s operations specifications. Read more.
ATEC Joins Industry Call for Remote Connectivity Guidance
The AC would provide a baseline for the agency, its applicants and certificate holders to comply with 14 CFR while taking advantage of advances in connectivity technology and related video, live-stream and other visual and audio tools Read more .
Comment on FAA Draft Airman Certification Standards
The FAA is in the process of replacing Practical Test Standards with all-encompassing Aviation Maintenance Technician Airman Certification Standards. The draft document is open for comment until May 31. Read more.
