FAA Reauthorization – Industry View
Tuesday, November 8, 10:55 - 11:40 AM ET
The FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018 expires at the end of FY2023. The bill provided authorizations for various FAA programs, as well as the aviation taxes that finance the Airport and Airway Trust Fund and the authority to release monies from the trust fund. The bill also directed the FAA to promote U.S. Aerospace-related standards globally and allows the FAA to work with foreign partners to streamline certification processes for U.S. aircraft.

Building and Scaling the Aviation Workforce for the Next Decade of Growth and Change
Tuesday, November 8, 10:55 - 11:40 AM ET
“Pilot shortage” has captured much of the nation’s attention over the past few years; however, a broader shortage of appropriately trained aviation talent, including controllers/technical/STEM workforce is looming. Furthermore, new technologies such as UAS and electric aircraft are set to disrupt our existing notions of workforce demands as well as the necessary skillsets.
Advanced Air Mobility and UAS Integration Theater

Cybersecurity Implications in the AAM Ecosystem
Monday, November 7, 12:45 - 1:30 PM ET
Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) is an air transport system concept that integrates new, transformational aircraft designs and flight technologies into existing and modified airspace operations. The objective of AAM is to move people and cargo between places more effectively, especially in currently underserved local, regional, urban, and rural environments. This transportation paradigm requires a molecular-like integration within the aviation ecosystem to assure the safety, availability, and efficiency of the flying public.

Airport Drone Threat Management - Addressing the Gap between Detection and Defeat
Monday, November 7, 10:55 - 11:40 AM ET
Today’s airspace is getting more complex and congested. Air traffic at higher altitudes used to be just for military purposes, but today we are seeing burgeoning advancements in unmanned systems, supersonic and hypersonic vehicles, high-altitude balloons, and increased space traffic. Today we will explore the seam between controlled airspace and space, who monitors and controls that area, and what we can expect in the future.
