Health Sciences Research Initiative Open Forum
Monday, September 24, 2018
Nursing Building Auditorium (room 1145)
3:45 - 5:00pm
Auburn University (AU), a land grant institution, proposes to establish a Health Sciences Research Initiative (AUHSRI). The AUHSRI will empower faculty to engage in discovery, innovation, and outreach in the health sciences for the benefit of all segments of society. This Interdisciplinary program will engage faculty experts from all AU colleges and schools involved in research affecting physical, mental, and social health and well-being. The AUHSRI will strengthen the sense of commitment to and facilitate communication with communities and stakeholders throughout the state and beyond, encourage the sharing of resources across campus, and advance the research enterprise related to health sciences through significant extramural sponsorship.
This open forum is an opportunity for any interested faculty to get an overview of the AUHSRI and a little background on what AU's consultant, Dr. Marietta Harrison, will be doing (staff and administrators are also welcome). This is also an opportunity for those at the forum to share ideas or questions that may help with the consulting process. Forum attendees are welcome to arrive and leave as their schedules permit; parking is available in the Nursing Building lot as well as in the lot located across the street (across Donahue) from the Nursing Building.
