The AUCA Transition Committee and Board of Directors have selected Tripp Reid to serve as the next Executive Director of the Alabama Utility Contractors Association.

Tripp brings a diverse professional background spanning public service and private industry. After seven years working in state government in Georgia, he relocated to Birmingham in 1998 to join BellSouth in corporate Environmental Health and Safety. Over the course of a 28-year career in wireline and wireless telecommunications with BellSouth and AT&T, he held roles in operations, supply chain logistics, and investment and asset recovery. Most recently, he served for four years as a market representative for a supplier supporting a variety of telecommunications clients.

Tripp is a graduate of Auburn University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration with double minors in Economics and Sociology. He also holds a Master of Public Administration from Auburn University at Montgomery. A resident of Birmingham, he and his wife, Margie, have three adult children, and one grandson. In addition to his professional career, he serves as an Elder at Briarwood Presbyterian Church and has been the Assistant Golf Coach at Briarwood Christian School since 2002, helping lead the program to two state championships.

He is greatly looking forward to the opportunity to serve AUCA’s members and to contribute to an industry that plays a vital role across Alabama.
