A WORD FROM OUR PASTOR

Mt. Vernon Nation,

What a blessing August has already been! As we continue celebrating Choir Month, I thank God for our Music Ministry and for every voice that helps lead us into the presence of God. There is something powerful about a church that knows how to give God praise!

This weekend gives us even more reasons to celebrate. Saturday from 12–2 PM, our Stewardship Ministry will host the Financial Freedom Workshop. I encourage you to come and receive practical information that can help strengthen you and your family financially.

Then Sunday at 10 AM, we return to worship, and we will celebrate Holy Baptism! I never take baptism for granted. Come help us celebrate what God is doing!

Mt. Vernon, whatever you are facing right now, keep trusting God. Some things are beyond our ability to fix and that is where faith reminds us that Only God Can Do It! Keep believing. God is still able to make ways we cannot make for ourselves.

And as Choir Month continues, let’s show our support for our Music Ministry throughout the remainder of August, including the Night of Music & Dinner on Saturday, August 22, and Choir Day on Sunday, August 23. Let’s support them and celebrate God’s mercy and kindness through song!

Remember, Mt. Vernon is a place where Jesus is Lord, Everyone is Loved, and No One Stands Alone. I love you, I’m praying for you, and I hope to see you Sunday at 10 AM!
