Church Planting Initiative and Challenge
“Churches Planting Churches”
Harnett County is exploding with new homes and thousands of new people! We have a Great Commission task in Matthew 28 and an Acts 1:8 Mandate to reach these people and make disciples. Planting new churches is one of the best tools to reach new people moving to this area.
Harnett County continues to be one of the 4 fastest growing counties in the state. We have to plant churches and reach these people! We have full time church planters – Barry Murry and Josh Stewart working faithfully in Western Harnett at Point Church Fort Bragg which is growing and reaching new families.
Northern Harnett just south of Fuquay-Varina added about 5100 new homes last year and approximately 20,000 people. This is amazing growth in the Hwy 401 and Hwy 210 corridor that funnels to Lillington and will only increase in the next few years. The Lillington town manager said that Lillington proper is going to double in population in the next 5 years. Just the little triangle made up from Hwy 401, Hwy 210 and Harnett Central Road has 13 new neighborhoods under construction.
We are challenging all of our churches to be involved in a church planting strategy in at least one level -
1. Supporting Church (prayer, money)
2. Sending Church (teams, people, resources)
3. Planting / Multiplying Church. Churches actually planting new churches out of their existing church.
We have a Church Planting Forum on Tuesday September 14th at Neill's Creek Baptist Family Life Center from 10am-2pm. There will be a catered lunch at no cost. Please see registration info below. You may also call 910-893-4282 or email missions@Lrba.net.
We will have expert guest speakers and lots of discussion about how to reach people, recruit church planters, and plant churches.
Please begin praying now about reaching all these new people and for God to raise up new church planters, new churches and locations.
Every blessing to you in the Lord Jesus as you serve Him.
