News and Updates
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Pam Crosby submitted her resignation as President of Plano Art Association. By rules set forth in PAA bylaws, the President Elect, Nolan Mueller, succeeded Pam as President. Nolan determined that he was not prepared to fully engage as President. He subsequently resigned from the role as President.

A Board of Directors meeting was called on August 11 to address the leadership vacancies. PAA bylaws empower the President to appoint vacancies with the approval of the Executive Committee. The board members discussed and deliberated on potential options and candidates for filling the vacancies.

Kelly McCurdy volunteered to move from her role as Secretary to President Elect, subject to appointment by President, Nolan Mueller. Gene Dillard, former President of PAA, volunteered to assume the role of interim President, subject to appointment by President, Nolan Mueller. Louise Dillard volunteered to serve as interim Secretary to replace Kelly McCurdy. Subsequently, Nolan made all of those appointments, which were approved by the Executive Committee, and then formally resigned his position as President.

The following will serve for the remainder of the administrative term, until the end of May 2022.
Past President: Karla Keese
President: Gene Dillard
President Elect: Kelly McCurdy

Beverly Theriault Memorial
On June 25 PAA suffered the loss of a dear member when Beverly Theriault passed away. Her family celebrated her life on Friday, July 16 with a showing of some of her work
at event 1013 in the Plano Arts District..

Beverly served PAA for many years in leadership and as a participant in our programs, exhibits and activities. She was a remarkably talented painter as her vivid works testified at her memorial exhibit, attended by many current PAA members.
She will be missed.

If you would like to make a donation to PAA in tribute to Beverly, you can do so here.

View the 125 Show for 2021
This year’s 125 Show concluded in late June at the Eiseman Center. The show included artists who reside within 125 miles of Plano. By all measures, it was a highly successful exhibit. More that 225 entries were juried by noted jurors and yielded 80 wonderful paintings, photographs and sculptures that filled the exhibit.

Message from the President
It is a privilege to once again serve Plano Art Association as interim president. The leadership team is dedicated to fulfilling the mission of the association. For over 50 years, PAA has been the premier association for artists in the Plano area.

The past year has certainly been one of the most trying. Our ability to host traditional exhibits, in-person member meetings, live demonstrations and other activities was severely limited. Virtual interaction was the only alternative.

It is unclear what the options will be this year. But be assured, PAA leadership, its Board of Directors and Advisory Council will make every effort to maximize services to our membership.
Gene Dillard, President
Plano Art Association

Amazon Smile
Did you know you can give money to the PAA just by using Amazon Smile. Instead of using the general Amazon website, sign on the Amazon Smile. Designate Plano Art Association as your charity and any purchases you make will have a small percentage of the Amazon profit go to the PAA instead. It is an easy way to give money, and you pay the same price for the items on Amazon Smile as you would for the regular Amazon. Just think if all of our members (and maybe their family and friends) would do this as a habit. It would really help our budget.
