Recent ARM Institute Program Completer Joins

M2K Pre-apprenticeship Program

Robert C. recently completed a fast-track, no-cost training program at New Century Careers, supported by the U.S. Department of Labor, the ARM Institute, Tooling-U SME, and the Allegheny County Department of Human Services. During the program, he was one of several participants who gained valuable skills and explored career opportunities in advanced manufacturing.

He enjoyed that program so much that he decided to join the August cohort of MANUFACTURING 2000 (M2K). Since joining, Robert has earned two National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) industry-recognized credentials and is now training in the shop on a manual lathe. His ultimate goal is to earn additional credentials and secure a full-time position with one of the 130+ partner companies that New Century Careers collaborates with for job placements.

Outreach in Action: NCC's Facility Tours Highlight Training Opportunities

to Local Organizations

Since the start of this year, NCC has been expanding its outreach efforts by hosting a series of tours for key community organizations, including members of the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR), Youth Enrichment Services, Veteran's Leadership Program, Rankin Community Center, and Auberle. These tours provided a firsthand look at our upgraded facility and the various training opportunities available through our programs.

The engagement with these organizations underscores New Century Careers' commitment to building strong community partnerships. By showcasing our training capabilities, we aim to connect more individuals with the resources and support they need to pursue rewarding careers in manufacturing. The tours were also an opportunity to discuss potential collaborations and to further our shared goal of empowering individuals through education and job readiness.

If your organization is interested in setting up a tour to explore potential collaborations and see our facility firsthand, please reach out to New Century Careers to schedule a visit.

New Century Careers Staff Trained on Collaborative Robotic Arm

In an exciting development for New Century Careers, our staff recently got involved with training on the new collaborative robotic arm, led by NCC's own facility supervisor, John Alexander. This new technology is set to be integrated into the MANUFACTURING 2000 curriculum, enhancing the hands-on experience for our trainees as they enter into the world of manufacturing.

The inclusion of the collaborative robotic arm in our program is a significant step forward in our mission to equip individuals with the skills needed for modern manufacturing careers. By familiarizing our trainees with the latest industry technologies, we continue to ensure that our graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of today's manufacturing workforce.
