We are back out in the community!
Valley Cities was invited to participate at the Kent Market Station as a non-profit partner group. We shared space with another local non-profit called Kent Community Partners and coordinated to work on a future project together to help support our community.

We had many people visit our booth, some who just wanted to say hello, and others who wanted to share their experiences while working with Valley Cities or receiving services. It was simple to feel a sense of connection and belonging within this community.

A special thanks to Jody Brown for working the event and engaging with so many people to share our services and support. A real display of compassion.

Valley Cities will be back at the Kent Market Station on Wednesday, August 11th from 4-8 PM. Come check us out and say hello!

NATIONAL HEALTH CENTER WEEK (August 8-14)
National Health Center Week (August 8 – 14) is an annual celebration with the goal of raising awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s health centers over the past five decades.

Community Health Centers serve as the beacon of strength, service, and care in their communities. In moments of pain and loss, they offer support and love. In moments of triumph, they offer hope and a vision for the future. Let’s come together this week to celebrate the roles Community Health Centers have played in both our recent moments of loss and triumph. This National Health Center Week honors those front line providers, staff, and beloved patients who lost their lives during the (ongoing) COVID-19 pandemic. From the very beginning of the crisis, Community Health Centers began finding innovative ways to provide preventative and primary care to their patients.

At Valley Cities, we are proud to partner and be co-located with Health Point, Neighborcare Health, and Genoa Pharmacy.

Clinic Spotlight- Meridian
Bobbie Oxford, LMHC, MHP
Clinic Manager

In December of 2015, Valley Cities joined in a marvelous new adventure in Integration!

Alongside, NeighborCare Health and Public Health-Seattle and King County, Valley Cities joined as partners to bring a broad array of services all under one roof. We like to refer to this as “one-stop shopping” and have the ability to serve our neighbors in the North Seattle vicinity in a new and exciting way.

Meridian Center for Health’s Mission states: We are a partnership of health and human services providers passionate about improving the health and well-being of the North Seattle
Community. We offer an array of integrated services to meet the physical, behavioral health, and social services needs of individuals, their families, and their community.

Our Meridian Clinic offers both SUD and MH services for those 18 and over. Our clinicians are highly trained in various therapeutic practices which include EMDR and DBT. During this last difficult year with the pandemic, we have been able to maintain a good number of staff on site 5 days a week, as well as staff that continued to serve their clients beautifully from their homes.

Currently, we are graced with -1 front desk staff, 3 med providers, 1 peer specialist, 6 clinicians, 1 SUD clinician, 2 case managers, and a clinic manager. We are looking forward to welcoming 2 interns this Fall as well.

It really is a delight to be able to serve our community together with Neighborcare and Public Health in such a beautiful facility and gorgeous campus.
