The Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA) sent a letter to the Prime Minister yesterday expressing our member's support for the Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion Project. The letter contained the names of 167 Mayors and Communities who voiced their support for the project directly.
AUMA and RMA are pleased to invite members to attend a series of educational webinars on cannabis and public health. These webinars will provide information and recommendations to help municipalities make cannabis policy decisions that promote and protect the wellbeing of their citizens.
Municipalities with drinking water plants serving 300 or more people are encouraged complete Statistic’s Canada’s Biennial Drinking Water Plants Survey. Drinking water operators should have received the survey.
In the coming week AUMA will be undertaking a number of initiatives to demonstrate municipal support for the project, the jobs it will create, and the positive impact it will have on our economy. We will be reaching out to municipalities again, so please watch for further information.
Is your community looking for information to build welcoming and inclusive communities? AUMA’s Welcoming and Inclusive Communities (WIC) Initiative offers tools, support, and guidance for municipalities to implement policies and practices that lead to more inclusive communities.
