In anticipation of the October 17 cannabis legalization date, the Government of Alberta has prepared a public awareness communications package municipalities can use to advise their citizens of the local rules and regulations for buying and consuming cannabis.
AUMA extends its sincere sympathies to the family, friends, and colleagues of Lloyd Bertschi, who passed away on October 5, 2018. Lloyd served the community of Morinville for 6 years as councillor and as Mayor for 11 years before resigning in November 2012. Lloyd also served as AUMA President in 2009-2010.

In this case, an employee, Stewart, worked in a mine driving a loader where workplace safety was a high priority. As a result, the employer had implemented a policy that required employees to disclose any dependence on drugs before a drug-related incident occurred.
