Thank you to our members, along with industry and community partners, media, and Government of Alberta representatives, for joining us in Edmonton last week for the AUMA President's Summit on Municipal Finances: Transparent and Effective.
AUMA, in collaboration with RMA and IAMA, have received funding from FCM to develop and deliver group learning cohorts in which participating municipalities will work together to build their asset management capacity.
Over 90 municipalities responded to the Intermunicipal Collaboration Frameworks (ICFs) survey AUMA conducted. Results show that some municipalities are struggling to find the resources and willing partner necessary to progress.
Connecting with the provincial government is complicated. Understanding how policy decisions are made is critical. Join the Public Affairs Association of Canada (PAAC) for a conversation about policy priorities and engaging effectively with the Government of Alberta in 2020.
Attention AUMA members:
the EQUS Alberta Forward Forum, which focuses on rural economic development, happens in Olds, AB on February 24 and 25. Topics include broadband internet, resilience and innovation.
Infrastructure Asset Management Alberta (IAMA) is a not-for-profit that represents those with interests in infrastructure asset management. IAMA will host
a workshop and AGM on February 12. The workshop topics include asset funding gaps and the impacts of climate events on asset management.
The Alberta Cycling Coalition is a like-minded group of individuals and organizations looking to make Alberta roads safer for cyclists. For more information on bylaw changes and other recommendations to make cycling safer in Alberta communities, please visit the Alberta Cycling Coalition website at
