The US EDA has issued a Tech Hubs RFI to solicit public input about the design, structure and evaluation of the Tech Hubs program. The Tech Hubs program was enacted as part of the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022, and Congress has appropriated $500 million for this program as part of the FY 2023 Omnibus appropriations Bill. While this RFI specifically seeks input on these and other topics, EDA welcomes all responses that stakeholders believe will support the development of a strong Tech Hubs program. DOE aims to gather input on how initiatives that promote and strengthen regional ecosystems can power the next wave of U.S. innovation and economic prosperity by leveraging its national lab system. Feedback is being sought on how DOE could stimulate innovation (through various tactics) in these regions surrounding its national laboratories and sites. Responses are due by March 28, 2023.
