UDelaware and STAR Campus to Host AURP 2023 Int'l Conference
The University of Delaware (UD) and its Science, Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) Campus will host AURP’s 2023 International Conference, Oct. 16-19. The landmark Hotel Du Pont in Wilmington, Delaware, will serve as conference headquarters.

Haley Bejarano has joined the AURP team as Association Administrator!

Haley is a senior undergraduate at the University of Arizona, soon to complete her bachelor's degree in Information Science and Technology with a minor in Business Administration. Two important news items for AURP Members: First, be sure to check out the Van Scoyoc Associates – Washington Update, a comprehensive digest report of key Washington, DC policy and legislative updates available weekly in the Members’ Only section of the AURP website. Don't miss this incredible resource! In addition, SSTI's IAC (Innovation Advocacy Council) is holding a "Day on the Hill," Wed., March 22. AURP Members are invited to register and attend this event. Nominations are open for the 2023 Prix Galien Awards. The Prix Galien Awards, created in 1970, honor biomedical research and medical technology products that improve the human condition. These awards are considered the equivalent of the Nobel Prize for the Life Sciences industry worldwide. For AURP Members, note the deadline to submit an application for Prix Galien USA Incubator/Accelerator/Equity Provider of the Year is May 30, 2023. Note also the 2022 "Incubator of the Year," Lab Central, is set to present at the AURP BIO Health Caucus June 4-5, 2023 in Boston. Learn more.

The CyberTexas Foundation, which helps develop the talent of San Antonio's large cybersecurity ecosystem, recently brought together over 500 middle and high school students from 67 area schools at Boeing Center at Tech Port San Antonio (AURP Member) as part of the organization's 13th Annual San Antonio Mayor's Cyber Cup and College/Tech Fair. Meet Robert Hull, senior associate vice president for research at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, who serves as the research ambassador for the Rensselaer Technology Park Campus. In this liaison role, Hull aims to connect the Technology Park’s company tenants with Rensselaer faculty expertise. Hull has deep connections to Rensselaer’s thriving community of entrepreneurial faculty whose ideas and analytical insights help companies translate fundamental research into innovative products and processes to help businesses move forward. Tracy Shickel, Associate Vice President, Corporate Engagement at the University of Delaware and its STAR Campus (host of the AURP 2023 International Conference) and AURP Chief Strategy Officer Brian Darmody attended the Bisnow Business of Delaware Symposium last month in Wilmington. Tracy and Brian met with potential sponsors and attendees who were excited to learn about AURP bringing the world's many Communities of Innovation to Delaware this October 16-189. Delaware Prosperity Partnership, an AURP past sponsor, moderated one of the event's sessions.
The Ohio State University has announced it's received a $110 million gift to launch the Center for Software Innovation to be located at the University's planned Carmenton Innovation District. The Center will expand opportunities for students in entrepreneurship and advancing education in software innovation, product management, sales and marketing. The Center also aims to catalyze efforts across the region to create a hub for innovation, entrepreneurship and product development activity. Read more.
