U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry announced that the Department of Energy will award 231 grants totaling $46 million to 202 small businesses in 39 states and the District of Columbia. Funded through DOE's Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs, today's selections are for Phase 1 research and development.
STAR Park Co-Hosts First Annual
Digital 360 Summit
On May 21-22, STAR Park co-hosted the first annual Digital 360 Summit. An invitation only event, held in conjunction with CMG, brought 100 of the nation's thought leaders in SMART infrastructure, buildings and utilities together for a series of workshops and panel presentations exploring the future of technology applications. At the event, Texas State University Provost Gene Bourgeois announced a new initiative to make STAR Park a "research neighborhood" available for collaborative research, demonstration projects and experiential learning.
