$25 million of funding approved for Regional Innovation Strategies Program for FY 2019
With the help of the AURP Government Relations Committee, the Senate CJS subcommittee approved $25 million in funding for the 2019 Regional Innovation Strategies Program . This is a $4 million increase from last year, and the second straight year of an increase!

AURP is excited about what this means for the research parks and innovation district members. Through this partnership with State Science & Technology Institute's (SSTI) Innovation Council (IAC) of which AURP is an active member, we have been able to create opportunity for funding that supports entrepreneurs and member research parks in the United States.

DEADLINE 2018 RIS Program submissions: Wed, August 29th, 11:59 pm EDT
AURP Needs Your Input
NIST is active with a Request For Information (RFI) looking for input on how to improve tech transfer in the United States. AURP is interested in collecting feedback on the current state of federal technology transfer and the public's ability to engage with federal laboratories and access federal funded R&D through collaborations, licensing, and other mechanisms. AURP's Government Relations Committee will be making a formal submission before the July 31st deadline and are looking to you to contribute to our collective voice.
Q:
1) What are other ways to significantly improve the transfer of technology, knowledge and capabilities resulting from federal R&D to benefit U.S. innovation and the economy?
2) What changes would these proposed improvements require to federal technology transfer practices, policies, regulations, and legislation?
Please submit your answer by email to any of the following members of the AURP Government Relations Committee. Thank you in advance for your input!
