Brian Darmody and AURP was at hand at the recent 2019 P3 conference where attendees addressed issues related to public-private partnerships (P3) as ways to provide communities with new tools to address infrastructure challenges such as financing new research buildings and university facilities. Like many things in Texas, this was a big.
AURP CEO Brian Darmody met with many AURP friends and partners including
Phil Ray
, Vice Chancellor for Business Affairs of the Texas A&M System,
John Creer
, Director of Real Estate, Arizona State University,
Will Germain
of Ventas, and representatives from Gilbane, Greystar, and Balfour Beatty.
AURP leaders shared their knowledge and opportunities in exploring federal
Opportunity Zones
, new innovations in financing project delivery, and ways to involve communities in university development. One project featured an innovative approach using philanthropy to finance a new university facility linked to the community in an emerging innovation district.
AURP plans to have a presence at the P3 Higher Education Summit in San Diego in October. If you are interested in attending as part of an AURP delegation, contact
Brian Darmody.
