Sharing stories, connecting with congressional and senate leaders, reinforcing the value within our communities, read how two of our member parks were recently recognized by their government stakeholders.
Celebrating 25 years of success, the University of Arizona Tech Park was visited by U.S. Representative Ann Kirkpatrick and former U.S. Representative Ron Barber . These congressional leaders toured the UA Tech Park, met with tenants, and discussed economic development initiatives with Carol Stewart , Associate Vice President, and Ken Marcus , Executive Director.
New Mexico State Senator Jim White presented “Senate Joint Memorial 6” to the New Mexico State Senate in recognition of the Sandia Science & Technology Park’s 20-year history, successes, and economic impact. SS&TP Executive Director Jackie Kerby Moore was a guest on the Senate floor during the Senator’s presentation.  Read more.

TUFF Secures $2.5 Million in New Markets Tax Credits for University: Funds Will Help Create Jobs and Provide Opportunities for Underserved Communities
The University Financing Foundation (TUFF) works diligently to identify and incorporate creative financial resources that ultimately lead to the lowest cost of occupancy for University partners. In collaboration with Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science (RFU), TUFF has successfully secured $2,500,000 New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) funding for the new Innovation and Research Park currently under construction on the RFU campus in North Chicago. In addition to supporting construction of the facility, RFU intends to use a portion of the NMTC funds for community initiatives, including the development of bioscience-related job training and internship opportunities, an expansion of its efforts to provide health services to the uninsured, and mentoring and educational pathways for underserved students.  Read more. .

AURP's 2012 Innovation Award Recipient Continues to Make News!
Stratatech's new 35,000-foot facility in the University Research Park , at the University of Wisconsin-Madison , will house 80 employees working on the commercial manufacturing of StrataGraft, lab-engineered patches of human skin tissue that can be sutured onto the bodies of severe burn victims.  Read more .
